I find the notion of the grouper grounds having only recently been found amusing as my family have been fishing these areas for centuries. It may have only recently been documented by photographs but it is well known that between July - August there is an evident spike in catches of grouper in certain areas with most readily showing their roe prior to spawning.

As was the case back then these fish were kept in fish wells transported back to shore and stored in purpose built and natural fish wells until being sold. Same can be said of turtles and lobsters.

There are two well known spawning grounds in the east end of Bermuda and one in the west end.

Chris Flook is a credit to his chosen field and his exuberance for what he does that is infectious to all lucky enough to engage him in conversation and field trips.
